English player Trent Alexander-Arnold, the right-back for Real Madrid, will be absent for more than two months, according to what EFE learned from club sources, after medical examinations confirmed that he suffers from a "muscular injury in the rectus femoris of the quadriceps muscle in his left leg."

The club stated in a statement on its website: "After the examinations carried out today on our player Trent Alexander-Arnold by the medical services at Real Madrid, he was diagnosed with a muscular tear in the rectus femoris of the quadriceps muscle in his left leg."

Trent was experiencing one of his best periods since his arrival at Real Madrid on June 12.

His run of playing four consecutive main matches was abruptly cut short at San Mamés on Wednesday. After exiting the match injured in the 54th minute.

This significant role in the team came after recovering from a lengthy muscular injury in the biceps femoris of his left leg, which had kept him off the pitch from September 16 until October 26. The English player gradually returned to the team, regaining his training rhythm until he managed to participate in his first minutes at "Anfield" (10 minutes), which had been his home since he was a young player, and in "Bayikas" (8 minutes)."

Afterward, there was an international break which the right-back used to work in the sports city with the aim of regaining his best level.

He succeeded in doing so and started as a main player in four consecutive matches, but the injury will again sideline him for more than two months.

This means that Trent will miss about eight matches in the league, the Spanish Super Cup, the group stage of the Champions League, and the rounds that Real Madrid might advance in the King's Cup until February. In addition to the absence of Carvajal who is still recovering from arthroscopic surgery on his right knee and will return in 2026. This, along with the injury to Carvajal, will leave Xabi Alonso once again without a first-team right-back, reopening the option of having the Uruguayan Federico Valverde fill this position."
