The national team is eagerly awaiting the 2026 World Cup draw ceremony, scheduled to be held at 8 PM Jordan time on Friday at the John F. Kennedy Center in the US capital Washington, revealing the group that Al-Nashama will compete in their historic first appearance in the biggest global football event.
The upcoming edition of the World Cup will feature 48 teams, distributed into 12 groups of four teams each, according to detailed procedures announced by FIFA to ensure competitive balance among the continents and participating teams.
According to the draw procedures, teams will be distributed across four pots based on their latest global rankings, where the first pot will include the highest-ranked teams along with the three host nations: the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
Draw instructions indicate a set of restrictions to ensure fairness in distribution, the most notable being: no two teams from the same continent can be in the same group, except for European teams, which may have up to two teams per group, due to having (16 teams) participate in the tournament.
The procedures also include avoiding teams from the same continental play-off being in the same path, applying the principle of continental diversity within the groups.
Draw Levels:
Level One (Pot 1) :
Canada – Mexico – United States – Spain – Argentina – France – England – Brazil – Portugal – Netherlands – Belgium – Germany.
Level Two (Pot 2) :
Croatia – Colombia – Uruguay – Switzerland – Japan – Senegal – Iran – South Korea – Ecuador – Austria – Australia.
