Khaberni - The Water Warrior competition concluded today, Thursday, in the Fourth Counterterrorism Team water unit of the Special Battalion/71, with the participation of King Abdullah II's Special Royal Forces, the Royal Naval and Boat Force, and the Public Security Directorate/Civil Defence, in the presence of the commander of the Southern Military Region.
The competition events included a series of combat and skill tests in a water environment, which included physical fitness examination, underwater knot tying without the use of fins, free swimming under the surface without resurfacing, in addition to executing a drowning rescue mission and evacuating the victim by swimming for a distance of 100 meters, and diving 500 meters in an open circle navigating towards a specific point on the shore.
The competitions also included rowing a distance of 400 meters in a double boat, jumping from a plane and swimming for 500 meters, along with searching for tasks using open circle diving.
The competition is one of the unique contests that combine physical strength and mental skill, and provides a unique experience that reflects the spirit of challenge among the participants who competed in an atmosphere that required courage, discipline, endurance, and teamwork.
The results awarded the first place to the Water Counterterrorism Team from the command of the King Abdullah II's Special Royal Forces, followed by the Naval Force command team in second place, then the Public Security/Civil Defence team in third place, under the supervision of a specialized judging committee.
The closing ceremony was attended by the governor of Aqaba, the head of Aqaba Development Corporation, and a number of officers from the armed forces and security services.
