The Family Health Care Institute (one of the King Hussein Foundation institutes), in collaboration with the Greater Amman Municipality and the "Ezzat Experience" initiative, organized a special event on the occasion of the International Day for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, under the title "Without Us, It's Not Right".
The event, held at Ras Al Ain Gallery on Wednesday and Thursday, included interactive theater, dialogue sessions, awareness and educational sessions related to child protection, reproductive and sexual health services, and gender-based violence.
The event, which saw the participation of national governmental and private institutions, discussed the importance of sports and nutrition, mental health, financial literacy, and the role of modern technology in empowering visually impaired individuals.
On Thursday, the Institute stated that it aims, through these events, to support and enhance the building of more inclusive and equitable communities, and to highlight the rights of individuals who possess abilities and potential that may be obscured by physical or social barriers.
The Institute noted in its statement that this occasion is an opportunity to enhance community awareness about disability issues, to provide supportive environments that ensure education, employment, and full participation in public life without discrimination, pointing out that it is a reminder for everyone to adopt comprehensive policies and assistive technology that promotes autonomy and enables everyone to contribute to development.
