Khaberni - In a move that reflects the acceleration of the AI race within institutions, Anthropic announced an expansion of its partnership with the cloud data giant "Snowflake" in a deal worth $200 million spanning several years, aiming to make its advanced language models available to "Snowflake" customers around the world.
Co-founder and CEO of Snowflake, Sriradhar Ramaswamy, stated that "Anthropic" has become one of a very small group of strategic partners who share partnerships with the company at investment levels exceeding nine figures, adding that integrating "Cloud" capabilities within the "Snowflake" platform elevates what companies can achieve with AI solutions built on their sensitive data.
Artificial Intelligence Directly Within Data
The "Snowflake" service will rely on the Claude Sonnet 4.5 model, while customers will be able to use other models like Claude Opus 4.5 for conducting multimedia analytics and building custom AI agents for their businesses, according to a report published by "TechCrunch" and reviewed by "Al Arabiya Business".
Dario Amudi, co-founder and CEO of Anthropic, explained that institutions have spent years building secure data environments, and now they need artificial intelligence that operates within those environments without compromising privacy or security.
He added, "This partnership brings Claude directly to where company data resides."
Strong Expansion Within Institutions
Recently, "Anthropic" has intensely focused on the institutional market, a path that differs from the strategy of its closest competitor "OpenAI", which tends to expand through individual users.
In recent months, the company has signed several major deals, notably an agreement with "Deloitte" to make its smart assistant available to more than 500,000 employees, as well as a partnership with "IBM" to integrate its models into the latter’s software products.
Data from a Menlo Ventures study indicates that "Anthropic" models have become preferred by many institutions compared to models from other companies, strengthening its position as a major player in the institutional AI race.
