A source in the Jordanian Construction Contractors' Syndicate revealed that the call to vote of no-confidence in the council of the syndicate during the extraordinary general assembly meeting on Saturday is illegal.
The source told Khaberni that the extraordinary general assembly meeting is set to discuss specific matters, and it is not permissible to add any new items to the meeting.
These statements come in the wake of a statement signed by several members of the general assembly, calling for a general meeting aimed at voting no-confidence in the syndicate's council, amid what they describe as a "crisis of confidence" due to disruption of the union's work and discord within the council, according to their expression.
The statement indicated that a group of council members had issued a legal warning to the syndicate leader and several members about practices they considered "in violation of union customs and requiring review," emphasizing that the purpose of the call was to "set things straight" and enhance the stability and effectiveness of the syndicate.
The signatories on the statement affirmed that the general assembly, being the highest reference in the syndicate, has the right to oversight and correction, and it is the authorized entity to consider the implications of "the lack of cohesion within the council" and its impact on the interests of the sector.
