Khaberni - The Israeli occupation army accused a group of four individuals of attempting to smuggle weapons from Jordanian territory towards the Dead Sea area within the occupied territories.
According to Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper, the occupation army said it opened fire on one of the group members during the chase, claiming that the suspect attempted to run over soldiers who had arrived to intercept them.
The military sources confirmed that all group members were arrested, and the injured member was taken to the hospital for treatment.
In the same context, the three uninjured detainees appeared before the Magistrates' Court in Be'er Sheva, where the occupation police requested an extension of their detention.
A police representative during the session said that what happened was an "unusual incident," alleging that the detainees were connected to repeated smuggling operations between the Jordanian and Israeli sides.
The authorities also announced the seizure of a drone and some other evidence that was in the possession of the suspects.
