Khaberni - The Director of Public Security, Major General Dr. Obeidallah Al-Muayta, participated in the forty-ninth Arab Police and Security Leaders Conference, which was held today in the Tunisian capital, with the participation of leaders, directors, and heads of police and security from various Arab countries, in the context of supporting joint efforts aimed at enhancing regional security, coordinating Arab security policies, and exchanging expertise in facing accelerating challenges.
During the conference sessions, Major General Al-Muayta emphasized the importance of unifying Arab efforts in combating newly emerging crimes, addressing cyber security challenges, electronic fraud and drug crimes, especially synthetic drugs and their escalating threats, in addition to benefiting from artificial intelligence technologies and employing them in police work systems.
Major General Al-Muayta stressed the need to enhance the exchange of information and expertise and the integration of roles between Arab security agencies, drawing on the approach of the Hashemite leadership based on the values of cooperation and Arab solidarity, which contributes to protecting the security of communities and maintaining their stability. He pointed out that the escalation of security challenges requires deeper coordination and more effective partnerships, which makes this conference a pivotal platform for developing the Arab joint security system.
On the sidelines of the conference, Major General Al-Muayta held a series of bilateral meetings with several Arab security leaders, beginning with a meeting with the Secretary-General of the Council of Arab Ministers of Interior, Dr. Mohammed Bin Ali Koman, where they discussed the prospects of security cooperation and ways to develop unified Arab police work, in addition to discussing training programs and future initiatives overseen by the council to enhance the capabilities of police devices in member states.
Major General Al-Muayta also met with the Deputy Minister of Interior for Police Affairs in Iraq, Lieutenant General Hadi Raziq Khanchal, the Director General of the Palestinian Police, Major General Allam Al-Saqa, the Director General of the Tunisian National Security Mourad Saidan, the Director General of the Sudanese Police Forces, First Lieutenant General Amir Abdel Moneim Hussein, the Director General of Police and National Security in the Comoros, Brigadier Nasif Kisan, and the Deputy Executive Director of the European Union Agency for Law Enforcement Cooperation (Europol) Jurgen Ebner, to discuss aspects of security cooperation and exchange expertise in the fields of training and operations, and enhance coordination to combat crime in its various forms, thereby strengthening the regional security system and keeping up with security developments.
In conclusion of his meetings, Major General Al-Muayta affirmed that Arab security forms an integrated and unified system, and that Jordan continues in its pivotal role in supporting Arab security cooperation, exchanging expertise, and building effective partnerships, which contributes to improving the capabilities of the Arab security work and enabling it to face current and future challenges with high efficiency.
Major General Al-Muayta also received several awards that the Directorate of Public Security won, including the Best Film Award in the importance of volunteering in crime prevention for the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the Best Film Award in the safe use of artificial intelligence applications, and the Best Film Award in highlighting the humanitarian side of police officers.
