Khaberni - Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam announced on Wednesday that his country is open to the establishment of a ceasefire monitoring committee to verify the process of disarming Hezbollah in southern Lebanon.

Salam stated in press remarks: "We have informed the committee that we are ready for them to conduct field verification whenever they have any concerns or doubts, and we are open to verification" by the committee.

Salam pointed out that the discussions within the framework of the ceasefire committee, which was joined by an Israeli and a Lebanese civilian representative, have not yet reached the stage of "peace" talks.
