Khaberni - The Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship and the company "OpenAI," developer of "ChatGPT," signed a partnership agreement to support the educational smart assistant "Siraj," one of the projects of the National Council for Future Technology which was launched on a trial basis, in alignment with the directives of His Highness Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II, the Crown Prince, to harness technology in enhancing educational outcomes.
According to a statement issued by the ministry today, Wednesday, the agreement aims to support the smart assistant, Siraj, developed by Jordanian experts, to provide advanced educational services and interactive conversations that enhance understanding, analysis, and creativity for students at all government schools, contributing to the improvement of the educational process and its outputs, and aligning with the curricula of the Ministry of Education.
The agreement also aims to provide tailored services for teachers and supervisors involved in the educational process across the kingdom to enable them to share educational experiences with students and enhance the interaction and evaluation process, within an integrated digital educational system.
OpenAI works with several governments and institutions around the world to support learning through tools like ChatGPT Edu and features that support studying and learning, which have been adopted by a large number of students worldwide and are endorsed by leading academic institutions such as Harvard University and Oxford University.
The ministry pointed out that the services provided through the agreement will adhere to high levels of reliability, data protection, cybersecurity, and strict regulatory standards, ensuring information safety and user privacy.
The partnership will also include an advanced data monitoring and analysis system that leverages data-driven analytics and decisions; to develop educational policies and enhance their future efficiency.
The Ministry of Education launched the educational smart assistant "Siraj" on a trial basis at the beginning of October, which is an educational tool supported by artificial intelligence.
The smart assistant, Siraj, allows students and teachers to ask questions and receive precise answers and interactions based on official school curricula, with clear reference documentation for each answer, contributing to the improvement of the educational process.
According to the latest statistics, more than 150,000 teachers and students have used the smart assistant during the project development phase, conducting over 900,000 conversations.
