Khaberni - Deputy Awni Al-Zoubi said that the phenomenon of civil society institutions funded from abroad is expanding in Jordan.
During a legislative parliamentary session today, Wednesday, Al-Zoubi mentioned that a number of these externally funded institutions are attempting to influence public opinion outside national frameworks and are trying to influence the direction of the Jordanian state and its sovereign choices. Some of them dare to tamper with the constants of the Jordanian state and its established values in the Jordanian conscience.
He pointed out that everyone supports the genuine civil society institutions, Khaberni, which operate within the framework of the Constitution and law, and serve the citizen and the nation with transparency and clarity.
He clarified that it should not be allowable for part of the foreign funding for some of these entities to remain outside any actual control, neither on the sources of the funds nor on how they are spent, especially when their activities intersect with community security and the shaping of public opinion, Khaberni.
