Khaberni - The Petra Development and Tourism Region Authority announced that the number of visitors to the historical city of Petra during the month of November last year reached 75,319 visitors from all nationalities, achieving significant growth compared to the same month in 2024.

Statistics issued by the Archaeological Documentation and Tourism Studies Center at the Authority showed that the number of foreign visitors reached 53,666, accounting for 71% of the total visitors, with a growth rate of 135%, while the number of Jordanian visitors reached 17,348, including 10,855 participating in the Jordan is Heaven program, and Arab visitors numbered 3,211, in addition to 1,094 residents.

The statistics mentioned that the number of visitors in the same month of 2024 was 41,110 visitors of all nationalities, including only 22,830 foreign visitors, in addition to 1,876 Arab visitors, and the number of Jordanian visitors was 15,259, including 10,750 participating in the Jordan is Heaven program, and the number of residents was 1,145.

The 7th of November 2025 recorded the highest number of visits during the month, with a total of 4,635 visitors, making it the busiest day of that month.

Jordan topped the list of nationalities visiting the most, followed by the United States, Russia, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Poland, Italy, and Spain, in addition to a number of other Asian and European nationalities.

Yazan Mahadin, the Commissioner of the Reserve and Tourism at the Petra Region Authority, said that the improvement in numbers in November 2025 reflects a tangible improvement in the performance of the tourism sector in Petra, especially in the number of foreign visitors.

Mahadin added that the Authority is continuously working to develop tourism services, organize movement within the archaeological site, and implement projects aimed at protecting the civilizational legacy and ensuring its sustainability for future generations.

Mahadin confirmed that the upcoming phase will witness more development projects that will enhance the quality of services provided to visitors and increase the site's capacity.
