Exports of Ammans industry rise by 161 during the first 11 months of this year

Khaberni - Exports of the Amman Chamber of Industry increased during the past 11 months of this year by 16.1 percent, amounting to 983 million dinars, compared with the same period last year, in a clear indicator of the geographical expansion of exports to non-traditional markets in Africa, Europe, and non-Arab Asia.
During the same period, all industrial sectors recorded growth in their exports except for the wood and furniture industries, which dropped by 5.2 percent, while the construction industries saw the most significant increase at 68.5 percent.
According to the Amman Industry Statistics, exports of the chamber, according to the origin certificates issued since the beginning of this year until the end of November, amounted to 7.075 billion dinars, compared to 6.092 billion dinars for the same period in 2024.
Four foreign and Arab countries accounted for more than half of the chamber's exports during the same period: India, the United States, Saudi Arabia, and Iraq, recording a value of 3.933 billion dinars, compared with 3.726 billion dinars for the same period last year.
Exports of the chamber to India during the same period increased by 23.3 percent, reaching 1.105 billion dinars, compared with 896 million dinars for the same period last year.
The statistics also showed an increase in the chamber's exports to Saudi Arabia by 8.6 percent, amounting to about 781 million dinars during the same period, compared with 719 million dinars from last year.
Exports of the chamber to Iraq during the same period rose by 3.3 percent, reaching 913 million dinars compared with 883 million dinars for the same period last year.
Conversely, the chamber's exports to the United States during the same period decreased by 7.7 percent, dropping to about 1.134 billion dinars, compared with 1.228 billion dinars for the same period last year, although they remained at the forefront of the Arab and foreign countries receiving the most exports from Amman's industry.
The statistics also showed, an increase in exports from the Amman industry to sisterly Syria, during the same period by 566.7 percent, where their value reached 419 million dinars compared with 62 million dinars for the same period last year.
According to the geographical distribution of the chamber's exports during the same period, Arab countries were at the forefront with a value of 3.386 billion dinars, followed by non-Arab Asian countries at 1.570 billion dinars, and North American countries at 1.181 billion dinars.
Exports of Amman's industry to the European Union countries during the same period amounted to 468 million dinars, and to non-EU European countries 225 million, and to African countries about 136 million, South American countries 66 million, and other countries amounted to 42 million.
During the same period, exports of the chamber were distributed across sectors including mining industries valued at about 1.770 billion dinars, chemicals and cosmetics at 1.268 billion dinars, and engineering, electrical, and information technology at about 1.179 billion.
Exports of the food provisioning, agricultural, and livestock sectors during the same period amounted to 896 million dinars, medical supplies and therapeutics 668 million, leather and textiles 565 million, while the rest of the chamber’s exports were distributed across the packaging and paper industries, office supplies valued at 254 million dinars, plastics and rubbers at 288 million, construction at about 168 million, and finally, wood and furniture industries at 19 million dinars.
It is worth mentioning that the Amman Chamber of Industry, established in 1962 and currently includes 8600 industrial establishments employing 159,000 workers, with a capital amounting to about 5 billion dinars.
