I was joking shocking confession by the accused of trying to strangle his colleague in Egypt

Khaberni - In a new development in the controversial incident in Gharbia Governorate in Egypt, where a young man is accused of strangling his friend in front of passersby, causing him to lose consciousness and suffer a head injury in Tanta district, security authorities arrested the perpetrator after confirming the veracity of the incident.

According to a statement from the Egyptian Ministry of Interior, the incident dates back to November 28 (last November), in the precinct of the second police station in Tanta.

In his confession before the prosecution, the accused said that he committed the incident "in a joking manner with his colleague".

Legal proceedings were taken, and the prosecution conducted the investigations.

A widely circulated video clip shows the aggressive young man ambushing his friend from behind, trying to strangle him for several seconds, causing the young man to fall to the ground unconscious, while some tried to intervene to revive him. Initially, it was not known whether the scene was due to "heavy joking" that went out of control or a deliberate assault.

Signs of astonishment appeared on the faces of passersby, some of whom stood shocked by the situation, while others rushed to help revive him amidst a state of confusion.

Attempted murder
From her side, the mother of the assaulted young man accused the perpetrator of attempting to murder her son.

In statements to local media, she said: "My son was going to die.. My son died and then came back to life, the accused was not trending or joking, but was killing my son with hatred and malice, he wanted to end my son's life."
