Loyalty to the Club A Fan on His Deathbed Wishes to Watch Ajax One Last Time

The Ajax Amsterdam match against Groningen at Johan Cruyff Stadium in the Dutch league, was one of the most beautiful stories of loyalty to a club’s emblem in history.

Among the crowd was Peter, Ajax’s oldest and most frequent fan, lying on a stretcher in an ambulance.

Despite suffering from a terminal illness and being on his deathbed, his last wish was to watch Ajax play one last time.

Unfortunately, the Ajax home match against Groningen at Johan Cruyff Stadium was canceled just five minutes in due to fan riots.

For security reasons, the match was postponed and will be held without an audience, but veteran fan Peter will attend the rescheduled match, as Ajax granted him special permission to be present. He will thus be the only fan in attendance.

But according to The Touchline: "when volunteers arrived at Peter’s house on the day of the match to fulfill his last wish, his condition had worsened to the point that he could no longer go, and thus his final wish remained unfulfilled".
