French media revealed a pleasant surprise awaiting the Moroccan team before competing in the upcoming African Cup.

L'Équipe reported that Achraf Hakimi appears to be making steady steps towards appearing in the opening round of the 2025 African Cup of Nations, after expressing great confidence in his readiness to return to the field and represent the Moroccan team at the start of their continental journey.

The newspaper clarified: "This optimism from the international fullback comes despite an injury hiatus in the past weeks, with his close associates confirming that he feels significantly better and is working daily to achieve the best physical condition possible before the start of the competitions".

It added: "Despite Hakimi's reassuring state, Paris Saint-Germain is dealing with the matter very cautiously, as the French club believes that the player’s return to matches will not be fully ready in terms of readiness, and he may not reach one hundred percent of his physical capabilities at the start of the tournament, amid the medical team’s desire to avoid any setback that may affect the player's journey during the second half of the season".

These facts come at a time when the Moroccan team heavily relies on Hakimi's presence, given his pivotal role on the right side both defensively and offensively, and his ability to make a difference at crucial moments.
