Khaberni - The occupation army revealed that Unit 121 of the Lebanese Hezbollah assassinated four well-known Lebanese figures, due to their fear of these figures exposing the background of the Beirut port explosion in August 2020 caused by Hezbollah's storage of ammonium nitrate. It is noted that the assassinated were customs officers and journalists who indicated Hezbollah’s connection to the explosion.
- Joseph Skaff, who held the position of head of customs at Beirut port – was thrown from a high place by members of Unit 121 in 2017 after he requested the removal of Hezbollah's ammonium nitrate from the port, the same material that later led to the explosion.
- Munir Abu Rjeily, who was the head of the anti-smuggling unit at the customs department – was assassinated by stabbing by the unit members in December 2020 following the information he provided about Hezbollah's link to the port explosion.
- Joe Bejjani, a photographer who was among the first to document the explosion scene and was employed by the Lebanese Army to assist in the investigation – was shot dead in his car in December 2020 by members of Unit 121, who stole his mobile phone before fleeing the assassination scene.
- Lokman Slim, a political activist and journalist who frequently criticized Hezbollah – was also shot dead in his car in February 2021 by unit members, shortly after accusing Hezbollah and the Assad regime of responsibility for the explosion.
- Hezbollah denied its involvement in these four assassinations, and the investigation into any of them has not been completed. These events add to the assassination of Rafik Hariri and the assassination of Ilyas el-Husrani, which we previously disclosed Hezbollah's involvement in, not to mention a long list that we have not revealed yet.
