Khaberni - The toll of victims from the floods and landslides in Indonesia, Sri Lanka, and Thailand surpassed the 1303 deaths mark today, Tuesday.

Indonesia topped the list of the most affected countries with 712 deaths, followed by Sri Lanka with 410, then Thailand with 181, and more than 800 people are still missing.

Sri Lanka's president Anura Kumara Dissanayaka warned that the current toll is not final, as the city of "Kandy" faces a severe water crisis, amid official fears of a worsening humanitarian situation with expectations of continued heavy monsoon rains in the coming days.

Rescue operations face physical challenges, particularly on the Indonesian island of Sumatra, where bad weather, bridge collapses, and road cuts have isolated thousands of stranded people.
