Khaberni - Saudi Arabia continued its stellar performance in the 2025 World Cup for Electronic Sports, after the Twisted Minds team won the Call of Duty: Warzone championship title for the first time in its history, adding a second title for the kingdom in the global tournament competitions.
The Saudi team snatched the championship shield among 21 teams from the elite clubs of the world, securing the first-place prize of $250,000, alongside 1000 points which elevated their standing to fifth place overall in the club championship.
The Gentle Mates team came in second with 750 points and a $150,000 prize, while the Virtus.pro team placed third with 500 points and a $100,000 prize.
Twisted Minds had qualified for the finals through the North American qualifiers, finishing fourth, and performed strongly in the group stage by finishing third, qualifying directly for the final without going through the last-chance stage. In the finals, the team was among the top four in five out of six matches, before clinching the title in the tenth match despite strong competition and being targeted by other teams.
Team player Riley Smith "zSmit" won the best player of the tournament award and a cash prize of $10,000, commenting: "My goal since I started playing five years ago was to win on the biggest global stages, and there is nothing bigger than the World Cup for Electronic Sports, and today I am certain this is the best team I have ever played with."
The competitions of the fifth week of the tournament continue, with the final of the EA Sports FC 25 championship scheduled for tomorrow, which will determine the last champion in the current edition.
