Khaberni - The Jerash Agriculture Directorate, in coordination with the Jerash Police, apprehended one of the violators of forest trees within the governorate, according to the Agriculture Director Ola Mahasneh, Tuesday.
Mahasneh said that the directorate has recently managed to identify several people who had violated the forests, noting that the person apprehended has previous cases related to violating forest trees.
Mahasneh added that the directorate executed ambushes and monitored the violators of the forests, and managed to identify them, noting that the security and administrative governing devices, represented by the governor of Jerash, managed to locate one of the individuals and apprehend him.
Mahasneh mentioned that legal measures will be taken against the violator, affirming that there will be no leniency towards anyone who violates the forest trees in the governorate.
Mahasneh clarified that the directorate conducts intensive patrols in the forest areas to prevent and apprehend any violations against the forest trees.
The forested area within the governorate is about 100,000 dunams out of the total area of the governorate, which is estimated at 409,000 dunams, equating to about 25% of the governorate's total area, according to Jerash Agriculture Director Ola Mahasneh.
