Khaberni - Within the efforts of Arab Amman University to consolidate leadership and excellence among its students, the College of Information Technology at the university achieved a remarkable accomplishment by securing the third place in the SheHacks V2 2025 competition, which was held as part of the SME X AI conference, organized by Green Circle Company, where the competition is considered one of the most prominent events in the field of cybersecurity at the national level.

 

The team (HexaDivas), consisting of student Ru'a Washah, student Yasmin Qaraqish, student Taif Al-Halou, student Manar Al-Asa, and student Wojoud Abu Hamada from the Cyber Security Department / College of Information Technology, managed to achieve a qualitative achievement by securing the third place after a strong competition with more than (80) teams from Jordanian universities, under the supervision of Dr. Kamal Aliyan, the assistant dean in the College of Information Technology, who provided support and guidance during the preparation and competition stages, alongside support and encouragement provided by Dr. Saeed Al-Tahat, head of the Cyber Security Department, Dr. Walaa Al-Omari, and Dr. Bilal Khater, faculty members in the Cyber Security Department, reflecting Arab Amman University’s commitment to fostering student creativity and empowering female students in technology and cybersecurity fields.

 

Arab Amman University's participation came in the final stage of the competition, which saw (13) teams from (10) Jordanian universities qualify after going through a series of competitive stages that featured outstanding technical presentations, amid a significant attendance of academics, specialists, and cybersecurity enthusiasts. This achievement is an extension of the collegiate journey of excellence which was first achieved in the previous version of the competition by winning the first and second places, reflecting the continuous improvement in the performance level of female students and their competitive abilities in advanced technical forums.

 

The SheHacks events featured an atmosphere brimming with enthusiasm and creativity, as the qualifying teams presented strong showcases and innovative solutions capable of making a clear impact in the cybersecurity sector. Reaching the final stage itself is an accomplishment that highlights the advanced level of Jordanian students, while the victory of team HexaDivas underscores Arab Amman University's status among the leading universities in this field.

 

On this occasion, Dr. Rami Sawalha, the dean of the College of Information Technology at Arab Amman University, praised the advanced level achieved by the students, affirming that this excellence embodies the college's approach in developing practical skills and encouraging students to engage in specialized technical events. He also emphasized the college's dedication to continuously develop an advanced educational environment that keeps pace with the rapid developments in the field of cybersecurity, by integrating practical aspects into the academic content, which enhances students' readiness to compete locally and regionally. Moreover, Dr. Sawalha appreciated the ongoing support provided by the university administration for student initiatives and practical activities, considering it a fundamental factor in enhancing their capabilities and honing their practical experiences.
