Khaberni - The internal control department of the Ministry of Water and Irrigation/Water Authority conducted a major security campaign in collaboration with the Ministry of Interior, all the units and devices of the Public Security Directorate/West Balqa Police Director, Central Gendarmerie Directorate, Preventive Security, Criminal Investigation, Civil Defense, Royal Environmental Protection Agency, National Electric Power Company, and Energy Sector Regulatory Commission. This extensive campaign in the Southern Shuna region, near Al-Kafrain Dam, involved monitoring teams, Water Basins Directorate, and Central Workshops Directorate to seal and fill in illegal wells and remove repeated infringements on water resources. It resulted in the filling of 11 illegally dug wells on state-owned lands which were drawn upon illegally, extracting thousands of cubic meters per hour to supply rogue farms and sell tankers through main supply lines with stolen quantities.
In details, based on the available information, the campaign was coordinated and the site was raided on Monday morning. The groundwork started with filling the illegal wells and removing all the non-compliant infringements that supply farms by extending main lines with large diameters over long distances extending to many large farms in the region.
The technical staff in the Central Workshops Directorate and the Water Basins Directorate continued the process of filling illegal wells and removing all the infrastructure with the Energy Authority and the National Electric Power Company over many distances and locations. Main electrical lines drawn from main electrical lines were removed and connected to control panels to operate the wells, as well as extensive water lines were disconnected, 4 control panels and electric cables of 700 meters in length were confiscated. The specific campaign records were prepared and forwarded to the respective authorities to complete the legal proceedings in this regard.
The Water Authority confirmed that its campaign and efforts with the Ministry of Interior, Public Security Directorate, and other entities are ongoing in all regions, and the most severe punishments will be imposed on anyone who dares to tamper with water resources, expressing its appreciation for the significant support from the Public Security Directorate, especially the West Balqa Police Director, Central Gendarmerie, all its units, officers, members, and citizens who report such infringements.
