Khaberni - Journalistic reports have stated that Barcelona has entered into negotiations to sign the young Al Ahly striker Hamza Abdel Karim in the upcoming January, to bolster the reserve team, on a loan basis.
According to the Catalan newspaper "Sport", the recent weeks have witnessed fierce competition to sign the player, with clubs like Manchester City, Bayern Munich, Lyon, and Milan contacting Al Ahly to inquire about him, but Barcelona currently leads the race to secure his services.
The idea at Barcelona is for Abdel Karim to gradually adapt to the reserve team, with the plan to join the first team in the upcoming summer preseason period.
According to Egyptian reports, the young player has signed a contract with a European marketing firm, which in turn contacted Al Ahly to inquire about the possibility of the player traveling to Barcelona to first undergo a period of experience.
Hamza Abdel Karim, who will turn eighteen on the first of January next year, caught the eyes with the Egyptian national team for players under 17 in the World Cup, where he was nominated as the best player in several matches, and amazed everyone with his scoring capabilities and decisive touches.
Hamza scored two goals for Egypt in the World Cup held in Qatar, against Haiti (4-1) and Venezuela (1-1).
At Al Ahly club, Hamza Abdel Karim was a consistent scorer in the youth categories of his club, and at the age of 17, he first participated with the first team, and is now a part of it, having played some matches as a starter, as well as playing as a substitute in the African Champions League.
The 17-year-old enjoys a good physical build, excels at finishing inside the penalty area, and his main feature is shooting, which has made him an attractive prospect to major clubs including Barcelona.
