Khaberni - The Jordanian Basketball Federation announced today, Monday, the official schedule for the 69th edition of the CFI Premier Men's League for the 2025 season, which starts on the current December 15 and continues until May 15 of the following year, with the participation of eight clubs: Amman Union, Al-Jubaiha, Shabab Bushra, Al-Ashrafia, Al-Jalil, English, Al-Faisaly, and Al-Wehdat.
The general secretary of the federation, Ayman Samawi, emphasized the federation's commitment to delivering an exceptional season that meets the expectations of the fans, adding that the federation is steadily progressing towards developing the Jordanian basketball system technically and marketing-wise, which enhances its public presence and reflects its regional status.
He noted that the match schedule was prepared to ensure the highest levels of equity and motivate clubs to deliver strong competitive levels.
The first phase of the championship will be conducted in a full league system (home and away) and continues until February 3 of the following year, with the competitions pausing until March 22 to allow the national team to prepare for its matches against Iran and Iraq in the second window of the Asian qualifiers for the 2027 World Cup finals.
In the second phase, which starts on March 23, the teams play a short series of three games: the first against the eighth, the third against the sixth, the second against the seventh, and the fourth against the fifth, with the team achieving two victories qualifying.
The third phase, which starts on April 2, sees matchups between the winners from the previous groups under the same system, before moving to the fourth and final stage held between April 17 and May 15, via a final series of 5 games where the team that precedes its opponent to three victories wins the title.
Also, before the finals between April 10 and 14, a third-place match is held through a series of 3 games where the bronze medal is awarded to the team that secures two victories.
It is noteworthy that the first edition of the premier league started in 1951, while the championship was paused in the years 1979, 1980, 1983, 2017, and 2023.
