Khaberni - Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply Yarub Qudah said that the 9.1% increase in national exports for the first nine months of the current year 2025, reaching 6997 million, is an indicator of the growing export capabilities of Jordanian products and the increasing opportunities for their presence in many markets, especially Arab, European, Asian, American, and others.

He added in a press statement on Monday, that this development in national exports reflects the positive impact of the governmental measures taken in the context of efforts to promote economic advancement and increase growth rates, in line with the goals of the Economic Modernization Vision and its items included in its first executive program and what will be included in its upcoming second program.

The total value of the Kingdom's exports reached 7690 million dinars, with re-exports increasing by 6.5% and reaching 693 million dinars.

He stated that one of the most significant achievements this year in terms of foreign trade is the increase in the Kingdom's exports to the European Union countries by 39.3% to reach 436 million dinars compared to 313 million dinars for the same period last year, and significantly increased to Syria by 383.3% reaching 174 million dinars compared to 36 million dinars for the first nine months of 2024.

Qudah pointed out that Jordanian products had faced significant challenges in the European markets, but they are gradually overcoming them, and the volume of exports provides clear indicators of this, as is the case with many other markets.

He mentioned that the Ministry has started, within a clear and defined vision, to take the necessary steps to follow up on the outputs of the royal tour to Asia recently, which included Japan, Pakistan, Vietnam, Singapore, and Indonesia, aiming to increase exports and strengthen economic partnerships with these countries.

Qudah expects that two trade preference agreements with Uzbekistan and Rwanda will be signed during the first third of the next year, as negotiations are currently underway with the two countries to draft and ratify the agreements, opening new export windows for national exports in both Asia and Africa. Additionally, efforts to maximize the benefits from the trade agreements signed with various countries and economic blocks continue, along with removing the difficulties faced by Jordanian products in some markets.

He noted the implementation of direct support programs for the industrial sector to increase its production and export capabilities, including the Industrial Support Fund which has provided support to 631 factories to date, and others benefited from programs offered by the Jordanian Institution for Developing Economic Projects "JIDEC" and the Export House Company.

He referred to the adoption of the new Industrial Policy "2024-2028", which targets supporting the industrial sector and enhancing its competitiveness locally and internationally, covering five high-value industries identified by the Economic Modernization Vision: food, pharmaceutical, textile, chemical, and engineering industries, across three main axes: competitive and productive environment, added value in manufacturing, and product diversification, through an executive plan that includes 34 priorities.

The second phase of the National Export Strategy "2026 – 2029" will be launched soon.

He stated that stimulative measures for the industrial sector have been taken to reduce production costs and increase its share in the local market, with the latest being the amendment of the customs tariff on imports, especially goods that have local equivalents.
