Khaberni - The chairman of the board of the Jordanian Company for the Development of Cities and Facilities, Musab Al-Muhaidat, stated that Umrah city had been planned beforehand to become a developmental and investment city, before it was settled by the population.
Al-Muhaidat added through "Khaberni" about the details of the Umrah project, that the city achieves its regulatory goals and the vision that was set for it to be a civilized city on par with the major cities in the world.
Al-Muhaidat explained that the city includes all the components of a modern city, where it will be a green city relying on sustainable and permanent energy, similar to the green cities in the world.
He pointed out that a comprehensive plan for the city was designed to determine the places designated for each activity, confirming that the city will be built on an infrastructure ready to accommodate any future development.
Al-Muhaidat pointed out that defining the areas and planning the city facilitates the planning process of the carrying capacity and infrastructure for each area according to its different uses.
Developmental city
Regarding the concept of a developmental city, Al-Muhaidat said it aims to create developmental opportunities in the community and encourage investments in all developmental areas. He added that the city will contribute to creating opportunities for building factories and vital products, while accommodating all creative ideas and innovative projects.
He explained that the city will be comprehensive and will provide opportunities for investors from various sectors to enter the city with their investment projects.
Al-Muhaidat emphasized that Umrah city is not just a pre-built city model, but was inspired by previous experiences of cities and other countries in building new cities, taking into account both successful and unsuccessful experiences, to extract what suits the Jordanian reality.
Al-Muhaidat explained that Umrah city will be a fully smart city, from its gateway to its exit, where its design will rely on smart and green foundations.
Al-Muhaidat also emphasized that Umrah city will not be a new capital nor a substitute for Amman, and it will not be an administrative city or affiliated with the Greater Amman Municipality. Instead, it will have its own legislation and regulations.
In conclusion, Al-Muhaidat clarified that the Jordanian Company for the Development of Cities and Facilities is currently working on setting the internal system for Umrah city, which includes planning, organization, and internal laws specific to the city.
