Khaberni - The Jordanian Ministry of Agriculture confirmed that all honey quantities displayed at the National Olive Festival and the Rural Products Exhibition underwent a sensory examination at the National Center for Agricultural Research, in addition to precise chemical tests at the Royal Scientific Society’s laboratories, to ensure the product's safety and quality and verify the honey's compliance with the approved technical standards. It is noted that the names of the participants were listed by the Jordanian Beekeepers Syndicate and the Specified Union of Jordanian Beekeepers.
The festival director, Engineer Abdullah Al-Qudah, mentioned that the concerned technical teams conducted a series of advanced tests, highlighting the wide variety of honey sources on display, which includes citrus honey, eucalyptus, cacti, sidr, cactus, and mountain honey. These types reflect the diversity of the harvesting season and plant sources across various regions of the kingdom.
Al-Qudah explained that all honey packages within the festival are sealed with a special electronic barcode for the festival’s tracking system, which ensures the source of each package and its safety, confirming that no unsealed package is allowed within the festival premises. He also stated that inspection and regulatory teams from the Ministry of Agriculture, the National Center for Agricultural Research, the General Corporation for Food and Drug Administration, and the Standards and Metrology Institution continuously monitor the inspection and verification processes.
He emphasized that any non-compliant or unsealed package would be immediately confiscated, to protect consumer rights, product quality, and marketing of local honey based on trust.
Al-Qudah concluded that the National Olive Festival serves as a leading marketing window for local honey producers and farmers, contributing to enhancing the local product's presence and increasing consumer confidence in the quality of Jordanian honey.
