Khaberni - Majed Al-Ansari, spokesperson for the Qatar Ministry of Foreign Affairs, emphasized that Israel must not be allowed to obstruct the second phase of the Gaza agreement.
Al-Ansari stated in a press release, "Israel should not be allowed to hinder the implementation of the Gaza agreement and the transition to the second phase," pointing out that "efforts are currently underway through the Palestinian side to recover the remaining bodies and block any Israeli objections."
Al-Ansari highlighted that "Qatar and partners in the region today are striving to move from the first to the second phase, thus achieving a sustainable peace that could lead to the comprehensive cessation of warfare in the Gaza Strip," noting that "there are significant challenges in reaching this level in the ceasefire, but the focus now is on maintaining this ceasefire sufficiently to reach a political solution with all parties in the region, the international community, and the United States working together to make this plan successful and end the war."
The spokesperson confirmed that "Qatar's primary concern is to have a UN resolution to implement the Gaza agreement, and that this matter should not be outside the UN consensus framework," emphasizing "his country’s continued support for the authority as the legitimate representative of the Palestinian people."
Regarding the American pressure on regional countries to join the "Abraham Accords," Al-Ansari confirmed in statements reported by the "New Arab" website that any normalization with Israel will only happen within the framework of resolving the Palestinian issue, explaining that the absence of a peace pathway for the Palestinians means that there will not be stability in the region.
He said, "Whenever there is a solution to the Palestinian issue that is acceptable to the Palestinian brothers first, then we can talk about integrating Israel into the region."
