Khaberni - Dr. Hossam Abu Farsakh, a Jordanian doctor and a consultant in histological and clinical diagnostics, holder of the American Board, revealed a medical case that was accurately diagnosed after a long suffering, which saved a 9-year-old girl from chronic pain, at a treatment cost that did not exceed 5 dinars only.

According to Dr. Abu Farsakh as monitored by Khaberni, the girl was suffering from tumors and painful scars under the skin that appeared and disappeared, raising her mother’s concern, especially with a "cat" present in the house, reminding her of the "epidemic tuberculosis" case previously shown in a famous video about cat scratches.

The doctor explained, according to Khaberni, that he recommended taking a biopsy (Biopsy) since the first visit to reach an accurate diagnosis, yet the fear of the word "biopsy" and the potential financial cost made the child's mother refuse the procedure, opting to seek other doctors instead.

After months, the mother returned to Dr. Abu Farsakh saying, "Doctor.. you are doctor number 11," after visiting 10 doctors before him and undergoing many unnecessary tests, without achieving any clear diagnosis, despite spending more than three times the cost of the biopsy.

After immediately conducting the biopsy, it turned out that the condition was not tuberculosis as initially feared according to Khaberni, but was severe inflammation in the subcutaneous fat layer (Panniculitis). Using special tissue stains, the final diagnosis was reached: Cat Scratch Disease.

The surprise was that the treatment was not complicated, but merely a simple antibiotic that did not exceed the cost of 5 dinars, allowing the girl to fully recover within just 9 days, without the need for any surgical intervention or expensive treatment.

Dr. Abu Farsakh concluded his talk by emphasizing that "a biopsy is not a frightening or expensive procedure as some might think, but it could be the shortest path to the correct diagnosis and recovery, saving the patient time, money, and suffering." He directed a message to parents about the necessity to pay attention to children and prevent cat scratches, which could lead to serious complications if not diagnosed early.
