Khaberni - As part of the ongoing preparations for the launch of the Ayla Red Sea Half Marathon on Friday 5/12/2025 in the city of Aqaba, Run Jordan, in full coordination with the Traffic Department, announced the completion of all the necessary arrangements for the traffic plan which includes road closures and accompanying diversions for the race. The plan includes providing alternative routes and all traffic safety measures in cooperation with the Traffic Department and the Directorate of Public Security in Aqaba.
This plan aims to ensure that the event is carried out in the best possible manner, especially since this race attracts runners from Jordan and abroad, and brings together running enthusiasts of various age groups, in a sports experience that contributes to promoting healthy lifestyle patterns and developing the spirit of teamwork.
The Jordanian Association for Marathons has confirmed the readiness of the Traffic Department's staff to assist citizens in following the alternative routes and avoiding stopping in the lanes designated for the race, to maintain the fluidity of traffic and save time and effort for everyone.
Traffic closures on Friday 12/5/2025 from 4:00 AM until 12:00 noon:
Complete closure of Al-Farouq Street in both directions (from its start near Airport Street to its meeting with Independence Street).
Closure of all traffic openings and side streets leading to Al-Farouq Street.
Closure of Independence Street up to the Intercontinental Roundabout, including the roundabout.
Closure of the Hotels Street – from Intercontinental Hotel up to McDonald’s Roundabout.
One-way closure of McDonald’s Roundabout towards Revolution Square.

Governorate Street.
One-way McDonald’s Roundabout opposite Mövenpick Hotel leading to Independence Street.
Independence Street leading to Al-Muhdood signals, then turning right towards Al-Muhdood roundabout.
Tunisian Baths Street.
Authority Street towards the airport.
The inner streets in the central Muhdood area.
