Khaberni - The organizing committee for the Qatar 2025 Arab Cup announced during a press conference held today, Saturday, in Doha, about the introduction of new facilities through the "Hayya" platform for the residents of the Gulf Cooperation Council desiring to attend the competitions of the tournament held in Doha from December 1 to 18.
The new measures include converting the current entry visa from a single entry system to multiple entries starting from November 30, in the context of a policy aimed at enhancing travel and tourism and meeting the increasing demand for visiting Qatar in the upcoming stage.
The committee explained that the new updates also extend to include increasing the visa validity from one month to two months, which grants residents of the Gulf greater flexibility to move and stay and attend the tournament matches, which witness large participation as happened in the 2021 edition and will ease the procedures related to renewing short-term visits, especially with the increase in regional and international events and championships hosted by Qatar continuously, the most prominent of which is the Arab Cup.
Saeed Ali Al Kuwari, director of the "Hayya" Qatar Tourism platform, said in the press conference: "In cooperation with the Ministry of Interior, we have introduced this package of new facilities in the context of a coordinated strategy to support the tourism and hospitality sector, and facilitate the arrival of visitors from the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, which represent one of the most important regional markets for Qatar, explaining that this step will enhance the connectivity among the people of the region and match the expected level of participation in the coming months, coinciding with the Arab Cup 2025."
He added: "The new facilities through the Hayya platform are a continuation of previous updates aimed at simplifying the visa issuance process and providing more flexible options for visitors and residents of the Gulf, while maintaining the highest levels of fluidity in entry and exit procedures through various ports."
The Qatari authorities aim through these measures to support efforts to diversify tourism and increase the number of visitors, especially given the advanced infrastructure that Qatar has enhanced over the past years, and its hosting of a series of global championships that have elevated its status as a main destination for major sports events in the region and the world.
It is expected that the multiple entry policy will facilitate the attendance of fans for the anticipated championships, foremost among them the Arab Cup 2025, along with the cultural and entertainment events that the country continuously witnesses, which supports the growing position of Doha as the capital of major events in the Gulf and the Middle East.
