Agriculture No Fraud Cases at the Olive Festival

Khaberni - The Ministry of Agriculture confirmed that there were no fraud cases at the 25th National Olive Festival and that 91% of the test results were extra virgin.

The director of the National Olive Festival, Engineer Abdullah Al-Qudah, pointed to the presence of electronic tracking technology, which is among the key technologies employed by the Ministry of Agriculture in the festival. He highlighted that these technologies would enable visitors of the festival to know the quality of the product through tracking the supply chains of the agricultural product from the olive oil. Application of the product tracking systems and monitoring them during the production process will strengthen food security, illuminate product quality and safety, positively impacting the marketing value and creating marketing outlets for women and small farmers at the ground of the 25th National Olive Festival and the rural products exhibition.

The director of Marketing and Institutional Communication at "Incub" International, specializing in supply chain solutions, Mustafa Al-Kilani explained that the adopted technology for tracking laboratory and sensory inspections conducted by specialists at the National Center for Agricultural Research enables festival-goers and shoppers of Jordanian olive oil to make purchase decisions easily. This is by directly knowing the name of the oil press, the farmer, the examining laboratory, the governorate, oil classification, package weight, and the level of acidity.

Al-Kilani noted the precision of the tests conducted by the center, and praised the evident attention that the Ministry of Agriculture devotes to electronic integration with the aim of facilitating the citizen's experience and enhancing their trust in the Jordanian farmer's product.
