Khaberni - The veteran Brazilian, David Luiz, a defender for Paphos FC in Cyprus, has engraved his name in a distinguished historical list of the UEFA Champions League.
Luiz (38 years old) scored a goal for Paphos in the match against French Monaco, which took place last Wednesday at the "Alfa Mega" Stadium, during the fifth round of the league stage.
Luiz rose for a corner kick and powerfully headed it into the top corner of Monaco's net, equalizing the score (1-1) at the 18th minute of the match, which ended in a draw (2-2).
This goal marks Luiz's first in the renowned tournament in eight years; his last goal was scored in 2017 during his second stint with Chelsea FC against AS Roma at Stamford Bridge, ending in a draw (3-3).
Thanks to this goal, Luiz also became the second oldest player to score in the Champions League at the age of (38 years and 218 days), according to ESPN America.
Luiz follows the retired Portuguese Pepe, who scored for FC Porto against Shakhtar Donetsk in the final round of the group stages of the 2023-2024 season at the age of (40 years and 290 days).
