Khaberni - The Economic Court in Alexandria, chaired by Counselor Ahmed Fawzy, has sentenced Marwa Yousri, known in the media as "Mubarak's daughter", in the case involving the defamation of a businessman via social media.
The court issued a sentence of 6 months imprisonment with a stay of execution, a fine of 100,000 Egyptian pounds, and referred the civil lawsuit to the competent department, in case number 1385 of 2025 for economic misdemeanors.
The investigations clarified that Marwa Yousri used her account on the "TikTok" platform to post content that included accusations and offensive terms against the businessman Ahmed Wahba, which included damage to his reputation and distortion of his public image.
The investigations concluded that these accusations were false and that their publication on the electronic platform falls under the crime of defamation and insult of others, which prompted the intervention of the competent prosecution to refer it to the Economic Court.
The judgment came after the court reviewed the evidence that included the use of the defendant's electronic account with the intention of posting offensive content, in addition to what the case included in terms of deliberate defamation and misuse of modern communication means to defame the victim.
It is worth mentioning that Marwa Yousri had previously faced a ruling from the Economic Misdemeanors Appeals Court in Alexandria, which sentenced her to two years in prison with labor, a similar financial fine, and the confiscation of her electronic accounts, in a defamation case related to a famous artist, before being adjudicated in the last case.
