Khaberni - Media reports confirm that Egyptian Al Ahly is heading to submit a complaint to the African Football Confederation "CAF" following the controversial events that occurred in its match against the Royal Army.
The sports journalist Micky Jnr, who specializes in African football news, stated that the match between the Royal Army and Al Ahly in Rabat witnessed notable tension that extended beyond the final whistle.
He added on X: "The Egyptian club is beginning to study the submission of official complaints to the African Football Confederation regarding a number of incidents accompanying the confrontation that ended in a 1-1 draw in the second round of the group stage in the African Champions League, the most notable of which was the throwing of a sharp tool 'a knife' from the audience at the players during the match."
He continued: "Information from Al Ahly's administrative staff indicates that the club is currently gathering video recordings and technical reports in preparation to raise them to the African Football Confederation, amid objections related to throwing projectiles towards its players during the match, in addition to the controversy sparked by the penalty awarded to the Royal Army and the related infringement of players entering the penalty area before execution."
He added: "Al Ahly is also considering requesting a review of the injuries that several of its players sustained, considering what its officials deemed as a lack of sufficient refereeing protection on the field, which enhanced the club's desire to resort to formal channels for escalation."
He concluded: "Despite the match ending in a balanced score, its echoes still extend outside the field, especially with Al Ahly insisting on the need for a precise evaluation of what occurred by the relevant authorities, waiting for what the official steps in the coming days will result in."
On the other hand, the match witnessed significant anger from the Royal Army players, after the referee canceled a goal scored by the Moroccan team in the second half, with the score at 1-1, on the grounds of offside, amid exciting controversy over the validity of the goal.
