Khaberni - The former technical director of the Jordanian national team predicted the Nashama would be eliminated in the second round of the Arab Cup, which will start on Monday in the Qatari capital, Doha.
Ammouta, during his appearance on the "My Predictions" program, predicted the Nashama would advance from the group stage, face the Iraqi team in the quarterfinals, and exit the tournament at the hands of the Iraqi team.
He said the reason he favored Iraq's advancement is due to the absence of several players from the Jordanian national team at the tournament.
He also predicted that Morocco and Egypt would reach the final, with the Moroccan team winning the championship.
Advice to Salami
Ammouta gave advice to his successor as the coach of the Jordanian national team, his Moroccan compatriot Jamal Salami.
He said that Salami needs to be patient and protect the group he manages.
He indicated that he has no definite information about Salami's continued leadership of the Nashama at the next World Cup, but he expects him to continue, considering that he has found stability and the right combination for the team.
He added that he sees the management of the Jordan Football Association as smart enough to maintain the technical staff that qualified the team for the World Cup.
He said that he congratulated Salami and the players of the Jordanian national team on their qualification for the World Cup.
Rejected coaching Qatar and Iraq
Ammouta revealed that he rejected offers to coach the Qatari and Iraqi national teams, justifying this with his commitment to a contract with his former club, Al Jazira of the UAE.
