Khaberni - The Spanish newspaper "Mundo Deportivo" has revealed the latest developments on the injury of Barcelona's goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen and his recovery process.
Ter Stegen has been suffering from a back injury in recent months, which has prevented him from being with Barcelona since the start of this season.
The newspaper confirmed that Ter Stegen has been working hard lately for a full recovery; he is undergoing an intensive rehabilitation program with the goal of returning to training before the end of November, aiming to receive medical clearance to compete before the end of the year.
Ter Stegen does not have a permanent position in Barcelona's line-up this season, as coach Hans Flick relies on Juan Garcia as the first goalkeeper, alongside the Polish Wojciech Szczesny, which puts the German goalkeeper's future at the club at risk.
"Mundo Deportivo" pointed out that Ter Stegen is aware that his chances of regular participation seem weak, which makes him seriously consider leaving during the upcoming period especially with interest from several clubs to sign him on loan in January, although no official offers have been received by the club so far.
Barcelona has reinforced the goalkeeping position this season by signing Juan Garcia from Espanyol, making him the favored goalkeeper for Flick, which makes Ter Stegen's return to competing for the first goalkeeper position almost impossible at the current stage.
