Khaberni - Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and Expatriate Affairs, Ayman Safadi, said on Friday that the Israeli occupation has manifested in its ugliest forms during two years of genocide that resulted in more than 70,000 Palestinian martyrs.

Safadi affirmed during the press conference at the conclusion of the work of the tenth regional forum of foreign ministers of the member states in the Union for the Mediterranean that Gazans are still suffering from a severe shortage of humanitarian aid, where what has been introduced since the ceasefire does not exceed 20% of their needs, while children, women, and men in Gaza are still suffering, and the children of Gaza have been absent from their schools for more than two years.

He mentioned that today the Euro-Mediterranean Union enters a new phase in its operations, after adopting a clear reformative vision that defines operational priorities to achieve the Union's goals in promoting development, enhancing cooperation, and building cultural, economic, and developmental bridges.

He praised the adoption of the "New Mediterranean Charter," noting that it adopts a rational methodology aimed at increasing cooperation, which positively reflects on both shores of the Mediterranean.

Safadi clarified that adopting the charter will be followed by an action plan in which Jordan will actively contribute to ensure the translation of the charter into practical steps that meet the aspirations of the people, in order to achieve the forum's goals in real partnerships that enhance security, stability, and development.

Safadi pointed out that today's meeting on the thirtieth anniversary of the Barcelona Process, which carried the promise of achieving just and lasting peace in our region, a promise that would have been the starting point for achieving development and prosperity, but this promise was shattered against the arrogance of the Israeli occupation, which still persists in the Palestinian territories.
