Khaberni - Recent leaks reveal that the upcoming "iPad mini 8" tablet equipped with an "OLED" screen will not arrive until at least the third quarter of 2026.
Apple's supply chain reports and screen manufacturers' schedules confirm the delayed launch of the anticipated device, indicating that the iPad mini upgrade with an "OLED" screen will extend into next year.
The "iPad mini 8" equipped with an "OLED" screen is now expected to launch between the third and fourth quarter of 2026, and not in late 2025 or early 2026 as previously rumored, according to a report by "Digital Trends," a technology news website reviewed by "Al Arabiya Business".
Korean site "ETNews" cites informed sources saying that the device will use an "OLED" screen from Korean company Samsung, measuring 8.4 inches, specifically designed for use on tablets, with mass production scheduled to begin in mid-2026.
Besides the "OLED" screen, the new iPad mini is expected to feature a more powerful "A19 Pro" chip, and may include features such as water resistance and other improvements, representing a clear evolution compared to previous generations.
With these improvements, Apple might launch the device at a higher price; analysts expect a price increase of up to $100 compared to the current starting price of the iPad mini.
However, the upside is that the "OLED" screen in the iPad mini will bring many benefits, such as higher contrast, better support for "HDR" technology, and improved battery efficiency.
With the "A19 Pro" chip, the iPad mini may also receive a significant boost in processing power sufficient for demanding applications, drawing, reading, and even gaming, making it more useful than a simple ordinary tablet.
On the other hand, the potential $100 price increase means that this compact device may move out of the budget tablet category.
