Khaberni - Syrian President, Ahmad Al-Shar, issued a general invitation for all Syrians to take to the streets and squares, to express their joy on the first anniversary of the launch of the "Battle of Deterrence Aggression," which led to the overthrow of the previous regime.
President Al-Shar said in a recorded speech broadcasted by "Khaberni" on behalf of the Syrian Presidency on Thursday: "Great Syrian people, I congratulate you today on the anniversary of the start of the battle for the liberation of all of Syria, the Battle of Deterrence of Aggression that worked to overthrow the criminal regime in all its aspects."
He added, appealing to the Syrians: "On this great occasion, I invite all the spectrums of the Syrian people, with all its categories and components, to take to the squares and fields to express their joy, and to demonstrate national cohesion, unity, and the integrity of Syrian territory."
In response to the invitation, social media sites were flooded with calls from activists to go out in massive demonstrations this afternoon, Friday, in most Syrian cities.
