Khaberni - The family of the Jordanian Raed Hammad has urgently demanded the repatriation of his body to Jordan for burial in his homeland, following the confirmation by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of his death while fighting with the Russian army in Ukraine.
His son stated in television statements: "My father traveled to Russia on August 15 last year for an administrative job, but discovered upon arrival that he had been deceived and forcibly conscripted into the Russian army, then placed on the front line, and we completely lost contact with him on September 25, after which we received unofficial news of his death."
The son added: "From that date until today, we were reluctant to believe the news until we received official confirmation, and our only request now is for the Russian authorities to return my father’s body to Jordan so we can bury him and hold a mourning ceremony for him."
