Khaberni - President Vladimir Putin commented on the recent news that claimed the Russian leadership is "dissatisfied" with the performance of Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, describing it as nonsense.

The Russian President confirmed that media reports claiming that Foreign Minister Lavrov was marginalized after an "unsuccessful" phone call with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio are untrue and do not reflect reality.

On November 7, a Kremlin spokesperson commented on claims by some media outlets and websites that Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov had "lost his status," describing them as false.

Rumors spread about the Russian Foreign Minister losing his status after Lavrov's absence from a session held by the head of state with the permanent members of the Russian Security Council. These rumors also claimed that Lavrov was later excluded from leading the Russian delegation to the G20 summit and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) summit.

Promoters of these false news cited the cancellation of the Russian-American summit in Budapest as a reason for "Lavrov losing satisfaction." They blamed the Russian Foreign Minister for this, claiming that Lavrov's conversation with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio led to Washington canceling the summit.

In response, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated that reports about "marginalizing" Lavrov were completely baseless, confirming that Lavrov still holds his position as the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia.

In turn, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova commented on the American media coverage of the Lavrov-Rubio meeting, noting that "this fictional story, in my opinion, is worthy of Agatha Christie," emphasizing that such articles are in fact part of the media war waged by the West against Russia.
