Khaberni - The Directorate of Operations and Consular Affairs in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs is closely following the details related to the killing of two Jordanian citizens after their recruitment to fight with the Russian army.
Fouad Al-Majali, the spokesman for the ministry, said that the ministry is closely monitoring the deceitful recruitment of Jordanian citizens by external parties, which is considered a violation of both Jordanian and international law, and puts the citizens' lives at risk.
Al-Majali said that the ministry urges citizens to report any recruitment attempts by the Russian army and warns against dealing with it, as it presents a danger to the citizens' lives and constitutes a breach of the law.
Al-Majali also stated that the ministry has asked the Russian authorities to stop recruiting Jordanians and to cease the recruitment of any Jordanian citizen who had been previously recruited in the Russian army, adding that it will take all possible measures to halt this process.
Furthermore, the ministry warns of entities operating through the internet to recruit Jordanians, confirming that it is monitoring these entities in coordination with national institutions to take all necessary legal and diplomatic measures to stop them and enforce the law against them, as their actions of deceiving Jordanians and recruiting them into a foreign army constitute a serious violation of international law, international obligations, and the Jordanian law that criminalizes engagement in a foreign army.
