Khaberni - The Jordan Kuwait Bank announced its official sponsorship of the special dinner for the "Economic Empowerment of Women in the Middle East and North Africa and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) 2025" forum, held in Amman on November 18 and 19 at the Grand Hyatt Amman, organized by the OECD and supported by the European Union, with broad participation from regional governments, financing institutions, the private sector, civil society organizations, academic environments, and entrepreneurs.
This year's forum was held under the banner "Empowering Female Entrepreneurs in the Middle East and North Africa: Policies, Partnerships, and Financing for Change," where it discussed challenges that continue to stand in the way of women's economic participation in the region, despite higher educational levels and females outperforming males in higher education enrollment. It also highlighted the importance of supporting female entrepreneurship and facilitating access to financing as fundamental pillars for driving economic growth and achieving sustainable development goals.
The forum gathered a select group of representatives from governments, banks, financial institutions, alongside the private sector, international and regional organizations, to discuss policies and practices that could enhance the supportive environment for women's economic activities, introduce innovative financing models, and share experiences related to enhancing the capabilities of female entrepreneurs in the region.
The sponsorship of the Jordan Kuwait Bank for the official dinner stems from its ongoing commitment to support initiatives that enhance women's economic participation, institutionalize partnerships contributing to development, and expand women's participation in economic activities and entrepreneurship at a regional level.
The bank confirmed that this partnership with the MENA–OECD Forum represents an extension of its approach to support international and regional efforts aimed at promoting the economic empowerment of women, considering it a fundamental element in building more flexible, inclusive, and competitive economies, noting that the forum serves as an important platform for initiating serious dialogues and drafting practical recommendations that can help address financing gaps and support entrepreneurial companies led by women across the region.
