Khaberni - Yesterday, the first division of the Grand Criminal Court issued a death sentence for a youth who killed his mother with several stabs and ran over his relative.
The case details in the northeastern villages show that the accused, on 29/5/2025, at one in the morning on a Friday, returned to his mother's house late, entered the kitchen and then approached her with a knife in his hand.
The crime began when he stabbed his mother several times in various parts of her body until the knife broke. He then went to get another knife and repeatedly stabbed her until she died.
Not stopping there, he tried to set the house on fire using a gas cylinder by cutting its valve and attempted several times to start the fire, but his attempts failed.
After that, he got into a Hyundai car, crashed into the house's wall, then directly headed towards his cousin after leaving the house, and ran him over, causing him various injuries, before the accused was handed over to the public security.
It was determined that the cause of the victim's death was due to many stabs with blood accumulations in the lung, stomach, liver, left kidney, and other serious injuries.
After investigating with him by the public prosecutor of the Grand Criminal Court, four charges were assigned to him, including: murder of one of the parents, complete attempt at murder, complete attempt to start a fire in an inhabited place, and a misdemeanor of causing harm to others.
The first division, chaired by Judge Dr. Adib Al-Khawaldeh and member Judge Dhiab Al-Tarawneh, sentenced the accused to death by hanging, and the decision is subject to appeal.
