Khaberni - The International Football Federation "FIFA" announced the sale of around two million tickets with the completion of the first and second phases of World Cup ticket sales. The tournament will be held in the summer of 2026 in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
A statement from FIFA's Media Center today, Wednesday, indicated that the third phase of ticket sales using a random selection draw system, will start on December 11, and will conclude on January 13, 2026.
The statement added that the draw for the 2026 World Cup will be held on December 5, followed by the announcement of the match schedule. This means that the third phase will be the first opportunity for fans to book individual match tickets after knowing how teams are distributed in the group stage games.
FIFA explained that in the first and second sales phases, residents of the three host countries—The United States, Canada, and Mexico—accounted for the largest share of ticket sales.
It noted that following these three countries, fans from England, Germany, Brazil, Colombia, Spain, Argentina, and France also purchased tickets, with tickets distributed among supporters from 212 countries and territories.
The upcoming edition will be the first tournament held in three different countries, and also the first edition to feature 48 teams, compared to the tournaments held with 32 teams from 1998 to 2022.
42 teams have qualified for the World Cup, and there are 6 spots left. Four of these spots will be determined by the European playoffs, plus two spots from the global playoffs.
