Khaberni - Artist Al-Shami responded to the statements of Lebanese star Nawal Al-Zoghbi after her recent television appearance in which she spoke about several names of young artists, including Al-Shami, commenting on his songs with: "The music is nice.. but I don't understand what he's saying."
This statement prompted Al-Shami to respond via the short stories feature on his Instagram, directing a direct message to the golden star.
In his response, Al-Shami expressed his great appreciation for Nawal Al-Zoghbi, saying: "The great star Nawal Al-Zoghbi, whose voice we grew up on and respect, someone needs to explain my songs to you, although they do not require explanation, but surely you will love them a lot because they represent our generation and modern song, and many millions."
He explained that the difference between generations might be the reason for not understanding the lyrics of his songs, as they represent a new generation of listeners, and he concluded his message by affirming his respect for her: "I am honored by you, star, and we learn from you."
Al-Shami's response followed an episode of the program "Al-Masar" on LBCI screen, in which Nawal Al-Zoghbi appeared unaware of some of the names of young artists mentioned by the presenter, including Al-Shami, in a discussion about modern songs and the rising generation.
During the episode, Nawal confirmed that she does not hold any stance towards any artist, and that she wishes success for everyone.
