Khaberni - The number of non-Jordanian workers who were issued deportation orders through joint inspection visits with Public Security during the first ten months of the current year reached 5460, according to a report issued by the Central Inspection Directorate at the Ministry of Labor.
The number of non-Jordanian workers who were issued office deportation orders during the same period amounted to 379 workers. Meanwhile, the number of workers whose deportation orders were canceled after paying the financial penalty was 476 workers, and the number whose deportation was canceled according to decision number (2020/7) was 60 workers. As for the workers who were released and obtained bail, their number reached 55 workers.
Article 12 of the Labor Law stipulates the right of the minister to deport the worker outside the kingdom at the expense of the employer or manager of the institution, with the prohibition of re-employment before passing at least three years.
Minister of Labor Khaled al-Bakkar indicated that the new regulatory measures aim to simplify the use of non-compliant labor within the kingdom, ensuring that it works according to the provisions of the Labor Law, confirming the continuation of intensive inspection tours for sectors where violations are frequent until the end of the current year.
The ministry's media spokesperson, Mohammed al-Zioud, clarified that the number of valid work permits for non-Jordanian labor reaches about 290,000 permits, and that the ministry is working on an advanced labor market data system and conducts field visits documented with cameras to control non-compliant labor.
