Khaberni - In a scene that confirms the esteemed status that Jordanian officiating has reached on both the international and continental stages, 27 Jordanian football referees are currently present at international sporting events in official refereeing tasks.

The International Federation of Football (FIFA) and the Asian Football Federation have enlisted this large number of Jordanian referees to manage matches that are part of the official agenda of the two associations.

Prominent Jordanian presence in the Arab Cup and West Asian Championship

Jordanian referees are currently distributed across major regional and international tournaments:

Arab Cup 2025: The prominent referees Adham Al-Makhadmeh, Mohamed Bakkar, and Ahmed Al-Ruweili are managing matches in the Arab championship that kicks off next week in Qatar, with Al-Makhadmeh being one of the top candidates for refereeing in the upcoming World Cup.

The Referees' Department works on honing talents

The Jordan Football Association currently includes about 250 active referees, ranging from those with extensive experience and a long history in the profession to newcomers who have just started their careers.

The Referees' Department continuously strives to benefit from the experience of current referees, in addition to integrating new referees into intensive local officiating to impart them with the necessary experience on their way to reaching the highest officiating standards.

Despite the presence of 27 referees on international duties, the Jordan Football Association confirmed that local matches are proceeding regularly and completely, given the sufficient number of skilled referees, which confirms the success of the Referees' Department in building a strong and sufficient base of competencies.
