Khaberni - Dr. Mahmoud Khleifat, the General Manager of the Aqaba Ports Management and Operation Company, stated that "two grain unloaders have been purchased and started operational testing at the port, boasting the highest technology in the world at a cost of 5.200 million dinars."
Khleifat pointed out that putting the unloaders into service is an unprecedented achievement in the history of Jordanian ports, highlighting that each unloader can handle 600 tons per hour, which increases the operational efficiency, competitive capability of the port, attracts more global shipping lines, and provides unprecedented service to the port's customers.
He added, the two unloaders can handle giant ships with a capacity of up to 80,000 tons, operate with an automatic feature without the need for human intervention, and have the capability to handle from horizontal distances up to 30 meters. They are equipped with modern cameras covering all work areas, alongside a special crane for maintenance and another for lifting special equipment used inside the ships.
